Find Greater Manchester businesses, compare listing packages and discover rentals, events and local sellers. This guide explains five practical ways to get started.
Looking for a local service, somewhere to rent or a way to introduce your company? Greater Manchester businesses and their customers can use this directory to find one another, share useful information and explore local opportunities. Whether you are browsing for the first time or adding your own listing, these five steps explain where to start and what each option costs.
The directory covers Manchester and the surrounding boroughs, including Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan. For wider regional information, visit the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
1. Find Greater Manchester businesses and local services
Start by exploring Greater Manchester businesses. Browse the area and category that suit your needs, then open a business profile to see its description, location and available contact details. Some profiles also include a website link, photos or video, depending on their package.
Before arranging work or visiting a premises, confirm availability, opening hours and prices directly with the business. A useful enquiry explains what you need, where you are based and your preferred timescale. This helps the business respond with relevant information.
2. Add a free listing or choose a paid business plan
Greater Manchester businesses can begin with Free Starter at £0.00 for 365 days. It allows one active free listing per account, with a business description, tagline, logo, cover image, category, location, contact details and opening hours. There is no automatic payment or renewal: renew manually after expiry through My Listings.
Choose a paid plan when you need a dedicated website link, gallery or additional presentation features:
- Basic — £15.99/year: your business profile, website link and up to 3 gallery photos.
- Advanced — £29.99/year: up to 6 gallery photos, website, video and social or external shop links, plus Member Wall inclusion.
- Premium — £59.99/year: up to 12 gallery photos, website, video and social or shop links, featured presentation and the Member Wall.
- Platinum — £249.99/year: up to 20 gallery photos, those website and media links, featured presentation, the Member Wall and the rotating homepage Spotlight.
All four paid plans cover one business listing and renew automatically each year. Cancel future renewal in My Account → Subscriptions; the paid plan continues until the end of the period already paid for. Existing grandfathered free listings keep their original arrangements. Spotlight does not guarantee a fixed position, continuous display, views or sales.

3. Advertise a rental clearly
Have a room, house, flat, office, shop or garage to advertise? A Standard rental advert costs £5.00 for 30 days and includes up to 8 gallery photos. A Featured rental advert costs £10.00 for 30 days, with up to 12 photos, a featured marker and priority in standard results.
Each package covers one advert and requires a one-time payment, with no automatic renewal. These are advertising fees, separate from rent and tenancy deposits. Add accurate property details, location and contact information, and keep the advert up to date when availability changes. Advertise a rental when your details are ready.
4. Share an event with the local community
Events offer another way for Greater Manchester businesses to explain what is happening locally. Standard event advertising is £5.00 for 30 days, including up to 8 gallery photos. Featured event advertising is £10.00 for 30 days, including up to 12 photos, a featured marker and priority in standard results.
Both are one-time purchases for one advert, with no automatic renewal. This is advertising, not ticket sales: the advert checkout does not issue tickets or reserve places. Provide clear dates, location and booking information, and update or remove cancelled or past events. Create an event advert.
5. Explore the marketplace or become a seller
Visit the marketplace to browse published offers. Businesses interested in selling products or offering bookable services can read Sell on GMB before setting up their seller account.
Product listing is free, with no compulsory seller subscription. The platform commission is 8% of the product or service subtotal, excluding tax and shipping, plus £0.50 for each item sold. Applicable Stripe processing fees are separate. Sellers must complete Stripe onboarding; new product submissions are reviewed before publication. Service providers set their own prices, availability and booking terms.
